Course Overview

This accredited two day PRINCE2® Practitioner virtual course prepares candidates for the Practitioner examination. The examination measures whether a candidate can demonstrate sufficient ability to apply and tailor PRINCE2® to the running and managing of a project. Duration

This is an intensive two-day course that prepares you for the PRINCE2® Practitioner examination.

Pre-Requisites

In order to sit the PRINCE2® Practitioner examination you must provide proof of having passed one of the following:

  • PRINCE2® Foundation (or higher) – this only applies to certificates obtained after 1 January 2009
  • Project Management Qualification (PMQ)
  • Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM)®
  • Project Management Professional (PMP)®
  • IPMA Level A® (Certified Projects Director)
  • IPMA Level B® (Certified Senior Project Manager)
  • IPMA Level C® (Certified Project Manager)
  • IPMA Level D® (Certified Project Management Associate)

Only current certifications will qualify as a pre-requisite

Pre-Reading

There is mandatory online pre-course work that must be undertaken prior to attending this course. It is expected that it will take approximately six to eight hours to complete. You will be sent full instructions with a link to the online pre-course within 48 hours of your confirmed booking. In addition, whilst attending your course there will also be some examination preparation evening work.

The Exam

Exams are taken online via remote proctor. You will be sent an email invitation approximately two weeks prior to course commencement to register on the Peoplecert portal. Once registered you will be able to book your online exam at a date and time of your choice. You are responsible for booking your own exam. Exam Format

The format of the Practitioner exam is as follows:

  • 150 minute exam duration
  • 68 questions
  • Open book (official PRINCE2® manual only)
  • 38/68 required to pass = 55% pass mark

  • ‘Preparing for the PRINCE2® Practitioner examination’ workbook, providing sample practitioner examination papers and marking guidelines
  • A review of the entire method, consolidating understanding and addressing any areas of concern
  • Individual scenario based exercises, designed to focus candidates on the application of the PRINCE2® method

A Pearson VUE exam voucher enables you to book and sit your exam at your local Pearson VUE testing centre at a time and date convenient to you.  Pearson VUE centres are worldwide, and you will be able to choose the closest testing centre to you. You then go along to the test centre with your photo ID at the specified date and time and you will then take an electronic exam. Your exam voucher will have an expiration date and your exam must be sat before this date as these vouchers cannot be extended.
