FAQs

As organisations increase their use of artificial intelligence, the ability to govern AI-enabled projects effectively is becoming an increasingly valuable capability. This course helps you understand how the AIPGF can offer a clearer way to assess risk and support better control of AI-related project work.

What are the exam formats for the Foundation and Practitioner certifications?

The two certifications use different exam formats. The Foundation exam is a 40-minute, closed-book, multiple-choice assessment with 40 questions, and you’ll need 20 correct answers to pass. The Practitioner exam is longer and scenario based, with 120 minutes to answer four questions made up of multiple parts. For Practitioner, the pass mark is 40 out of 80. Both exams are completed online using remote proctoring.

Why should project professionals understand AI governance?

AI can introduce dependencies and risks that are harder to control using standard project governance alone. This course helps you understand where additional checks may be needed, how responsibilities can be made clear, and how governance can support better decision making throughout AI-related project work.

How can maturity assessment help with AI project governance?

Maturity assessment helps organisations understand whether their current governance approach is suitable for the way AI is being used in projects. It can highlight where controls, responsibilities or decision processes may need to be strengthened, so improvements are based on current capability rather than assumptions.

How does the course address responsible AI use?

The course explores areas such as transparency, bias, explainability, accountability and legal considerations. You’ll consider how these factors affect project decisions and what governance activity can do to make AI-related work easier to manage.

What makes AI project governance different from standard project governance?

AI can introduce issues around explainability, bias, data use, changing outputs and human oversight. The course helps you identify where these issues affect project control and how governance activity can be adapted without losing sight of delivery priorities.
